Project overview

The app is focused on the convenience of choosing dishes in advance. That way, users can enjoy their all-you-can-eat experience at steakhouses without unnecessary interruptions from the waiters.
 

Challenges

Create a clean and modern mobile app.

Kickoff

In this project, I decided to use qualitative research as a starting point. I interviewed 5 participants to gather information about their frustrations and motivations related to the experience of dining at Brazilian steakhouses with an all-you-can-eat service.

Meet the users

Bella would like to have business meetings at the steakhouse on weekdays, however, she knows that a quieter place is always a much more effective choice to conduct uninterrupted business conversations.

Going to Brazilian steakhouses is an opportunity to end his homesickness, however those are expensive in New York City. Also, he's sure that he eats more than he should in there, not to mention the waste of food left on the table.

Competitive analysis

I looked at some potential competitors and found that none of them offered the convenience of pre-selecting steaks at the all-you-can-eat service. As a result, I realized that a tool could be implemented in order to improve user experience.

They have a strong traditional and quality aesthetic, visible in every screen of their website. Comfort food is portrayed in every picture and the website as a whole has a luxurious feel, which is reflected in their high prices.

The website is a bit confusing. It even has a delivery section, but a banner says they don't deliver. However, the website is easy to navigate.

Looks like they are everywhere because of the location map, but it is not consistent. Sometimes the map shows they have 22 restaurants, sometimes it shows 67.

I created a user flow to map the user journey from start to finish, which helped me gain insights into how users interact with the product.

Iteration

With the low fidelity prototype, I prepared a usability study that asked users to perform tasks with the app. Users provided usability feedback and answered 12 questions.

Takeaways

As a Brazilian living outside Brazil and a fan of my country's barbecue, I strongly believe that the tools provided in the Brazilian Steakhouse app can enhance the experience of Brazilians who live far from home and miss the authentic taste of Brazilian steakhouses.
